Held in our college seminar under the title of the use
of organic materials to extract oil and kerosene, as this
seminar prepared by Mr. (dr.Hussein Alimi) expert and representative of company (Weartherford Lab ) in America was
in the hall on the geology Dep.(20/10/2010) in our college
and the title is:-
Organic
Geochemistry Application in Petroleum Exploration and
production
At the outset, Dr. (Alimi) light on the
importance of each of the devices used for the analysis of
organic materials such as the following articles (Isotope,
Prolysis, GC…. etc) and how to use the machines in a
scientific accurate.
And then expressed his willingness and
cooperation with the Presidency of the department and the
University of Salahuddin to the number of staff from
Department of Geology and training how to use of these
devices and take advantage of university, especially in our
college department geology as well as to connect the
relations and exchange of scientific information between the
company listed in advance and the Department of Geology
minister vowed. Pledged under the supervision of Dr.Alimi
joint on the number of master's and doctorate's students.
In conclusion, thanked Dr. (Hussein Alimi) by the audience,
hoping to take advantage of these devices in college .

The Fourth
Scientific Conference,
For Student of Science College
In order to progress in science
and
raising the scientific level of our dear students. So, our
college is proactive completion
conferences and continuing meetings during the academic year
with students at different stages as well as with the
faculty members in order to urging them for the continued
diligence work. The fourth Scientific Conference for
Students took place on (12-13/5/2010) with the presence of
the President of Salahaddin University (Dr. Ahmed Dazai) and
the Science College Dean (Dr. Kamal Mustafa Mahmoud) and
some college faculty member and visitors.
The conference started with
recitation of the blessing of the Koran and standing minutes
for the souls of our innocent martyrs, martyrs of the Kurds
and Kurdistan.
And then two speeches delivered by the Dean of the College
and the representative of student stress the word on the
convening of such conferences and urging the students and
the pursuit of learning and increase interest in science and
knowledge and scientific research which lead to our
country's progress and prosperity
.After that participant students started presents their
research that are part of the graduation requirements with
the fourth stage and then the presented researches evaluates
by members of Special Committee to evaluate researches. At
the end of the conference, gifts were distributed to the
winner students. And scientific conference ended
successfully.

Workshop at the University of Basra
For the purpose of access to scientific projects and researches that are held at Iraq's universities and take advantage of it to our university the dean of the College of Science (Dr.Kamal Mustafa Mahmoud) and a number of professors from the Department of Geology accepted invitation from the university of Basra to participate in a workshop made up of representatives of Iraq's universities and three participants from Tu (Bergakademie) Freiburg,Germany.In this workshop the participants exchanged information with regard to scientific capacity building measures for the years (2010-2011),the workshop was held from (1-5/5/2010) at the University of Basra. The President of the University of Basra and a number of participants each delivered a speech giving a brief explanation about their universities, including a speech giving by the dean of our college (Dr. Kamal Mustafa Mahmoud).After the completion of the workshop, the President of the University of Basra thanks the participants. We hope that to take advantage of such events.
