Q1. What are the registration
terms of College of Science ?
The student must be a baccalaureate
or an equivalent degree holder with an average designated by the
central acceptance Office at Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research in Kurdistan Region and according to the
valid instructions.
Q2. How can one get
acceptance from College of Science:
Students are accepted in our
college through Central Acceptance Office at Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research in Kurdistan Region. The
students compete for the assigned seats for each scientific
department according to the average marks they received for
their baccalaureate study, this is set by the above office. In
addition, students from outside Kurdistan Region are also
accepted in our college through the afore-mentioned office.
Q3. What is the system of
study in the College of Science?
The system used is annual with
syllabuses being arranged by the departments of this college, in
addition the study is free of charge.
Q4. How many years are
required to get the B.Sc. degree?
The minimum studying period is
four years, but must no exceed six years (except differing year
which must not exceed two years).
Q5. Are there any
postgraduate studies in College of Science?
Yes, there are. These include
Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Many students have been
awarded such degrees and it is continuous.
Q6. How can a student apply
for postgraduate studies?
The student applying for a
postgraduate study must comply to the following conditions:
a.
Must be a
B.Sc. degree holder.
b.
His/her
average mark must be 65% for Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, Ministry of Health and Ministry of
Education staff members and 70% for others.
c.
Compliance
with the conditions set by the university including the age of
the applicant.
d.
The above
conditions are equally applied for Ph.D. degree applicants
except that they must be B.Sc. Holders with an age not exceeding
45.
e.
Pass the
theoretical and oral exams set by scientific committees of the
assigned departments
f.
Pass courses
of two semesters with an average not lower than 70%.
g.
Carry out a
research and submit a thesis debated by a specialized committee
allocated by the college council.
