Established in 1968. This department was the graduates of this department are working in the following organizations: Ministry of health (Laboratory and clinical department), Ministry of Industry, energy, Ministry of Agriculture and irrigation, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientefic reasearch (universities and institues). The duration of study in this department is is for academic years for B.Sc. the number of undergraduate students in all four stages is 403 students. Postgraduate studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D) were opened in 1976 and 1992 respectively  number of postgraduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D) who are now continuing their studies are (13) M.Sc. and (5) Ph.D students. Number of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students who were completed their in this department is (76) M.Sc. and (19) Ph.D. students, respectively.
